Today, two-thirds of St. John is part of the Virgin Islands National Park, featuring wonderful trails, secluded coves, and white beaches. Due to the fact that the National park makes up a majority of St. John, it helps keep the island clean and looking as if it were never explored, truly an untouched island. The trails are a large part of vacationing on St. John, there are many of different kinds of hikers. One of the favorites is the Reef Bay Trail which takes hikers through forests, plantation ruins, and rock outcroppings marked by well-preserved writings from the ancient people that used to live on the island. Other trails and
beaches are Trunk Bay, Hawks nest Bay, Cinnamon Bay, and Maho Bay which are just four of the dozens of beaches. When the day ends the activity begins! When the sun sets, stop by Cruz Bay because it is notorious for being the center of activity on St. John. There is everything from colorful shops, lively bars, and amazing restaurants.
