Dominica

Dominica is a site that has so many indescribable features that they are endless. From its mountain peaks that rise 4,000 feet and to the submerged volcanic craters, Dominica is defiantly a place to visit. These distinct environments makes it one of the best places in the Caribbean to dive, whale and dolphin watch, hike, and explore the tropical rainforest. The island is known as the Whale Watching Capital of the Caribbean and boasts a 90% success rate in spotting whales or dolphins during a whale watching excursion. The sperm whales can be seen year round due to the unique Dominica underwater terrain. This island definitely has something for everyone!

Dominica is the Caribbean island that is famous for its tropical rainforest and the many rivers and waterfalls which result from the high rainfall. Not only can one enjoy themselves in a beach villa in Dominica, but also be able to view the stunning rainforests around the island. In addition, its volcanic origins are displayed in the Boiling Lake (one of the largest of its kind in the world) and many other smaller holes which hot smoke and gases escape around the island. Furthermore, it is widely recognized to be both one of the best dive sites and a prime whale watching locations in the region.

The shopping in this Caribbean island is also something one cannot pass up. Many of these items are handcrafted and makes for a one of a kind unique souvenir. A fine selection of Dominican arts and crafts, often hand-painted on-site, can be found in numerous little shops throughout the island. Every craft has its own distinct identity and is never duplicated twice. Carib crafts made from different woods, bamboo, calabash and "fwije" (tree fern) can be found all over the island.
